| KT "can't wait" to get married |

Singer KT Tunstall didn't necessarily used to think of herself as someone who'd get excited about the prospect of marriage, but the engaged rocker has changed her tune. "I can't wait," she told PEOPLE before her concert at The Klein Memorial Auditorium in Bridgeport, Conn. "I didn't think I would [want to get married.] But I am excited about it." In fact, just deciding to tie the knot has been a life-changing experience for the unconventional singer, who accepted a traditional proposal from her longtime boyfriend, Luke Bullen, the drummer in her band, on Christmas Day. "Getting engaged can be very liberating because all the insecurities about your relationship go because you've made a commitment," she said. "Once you've made that commitment in anything, then really magical things can happen." The couple plan to wed in Scotland in the Autumn. Tunstall is also looking forward to becoming a mum someday. "I'm inspired by women in music who manage to juggle family and a career," said the eco-friendly singer, who is traveling across the United States for her Drastic Fantastic tour in a bio-diesel bus. "I certainly don't want to stop touring." Planning a wedding while on tour can be challenging, she admits. "It's hard. I've got very good friends and family. And my mum is amazing. Anything I'm forgetting, she's on it. She's a rock for me." |

| KT Tunstall's New Songs Inspired By Children's Book, Bo Diddley |

While American audiences are still discovering KT Tunstall's 2007 LP, Drastic Fantastic, the Scottish singer/songwriter says she isn't going to wait around for everyone else to catch up. She has already started writing songs for her next record, and she'll be previewing one of them a track inspired by a popular children's book during her next U.S. headlining tour, which gets under way next month. "It's called 'The Hidden Heart,' and it's basically about a tree that really doesn't like people," Tunstall told MTV News recently. "[It was inspired by] this brilliant kids' book that my [goddaughter's] got called 'The Giving Tree.'" Read more? |

| KT will take a break to travel |
|
KT Tunstall has revealed that she will stop making music in order to go travelling. The Scottish singer told MTV that she plans to go backpacking after completing her tour of South America in October. She explained: "I never did the backpacking thing when I was younger, so I'm just going to disappear, travel for a few months and write some music. "I can't wait to write the next record, though, to be honest. I won't be in the studio until next year." |
